From “The Dog Lover’s Companion to California”
We love the four gorgeous classy old-English style cottages that make up this inn. Each white cottage, set in the inn’s lush English garden, is like its own little England – a touch of the Cotswolds – from thatched roofs to the forest-green shutters to the airy and cozy interior beautiful furnishings. Fireplaces are the rule here. The three one bedroom cottages have kitchens, too, in case you feel like playing chef during your stay. The fourth cottage, which has two bedrooms, sports an efficiency kitchen. If you’re longing for quiet, the Lincoln Green is for you. It’s set in a part of town, far enough from the not-so-madding crowds in Carmel to enjoy tranquility, and in the midst of the inn’s sweet gardens. The inn is a short walk to the Carmel River State Beach. The cottages are, of course, dog friendly. (see book information)

Friar Tuck cottage has been just what we'd hoped for. A comfortable, quiet, and very pretty place to stay during our visit to Carmel. We have walked on the beach, played golf at Pebble Beach ( a long-held dream of Ian's!) and, of course, shopped! Thank you for your hospitality and all the little lovely touches - we will definitely stay again if we're back this way in the future. For now, we're off to Scottsdale, Arizona for a week (more golf for Ian!)

Thank you for another lovely week at the Lincoln Green! We have been spending our vacation here for several years now and always hate to leave. Time goes very quickly here.... We enjoyed wine and cooking each evening, withi beautiful bike rides each day in Monterey. Our daughter will have wonderful memories of our weeks in Carmel. Until next August.

We had a wonderful stay here and perfect weather! It was great to be able to have our doggie stay with us, she really enjoyed it too. Everything here seemed to be set up really nice. We enjoyed sitting at the table in our private yard and riding bikeks along the beach and taking the doggie for a swim. It's really nice to get such a relaxing vacation so close to home. We spent three days at Maid Marian and celebrated our 40th anniversary. The cottage was a perfect setting, romantic and charming. Loved all the amenities Angela had thoughtfully provided. The beautiful garden is stunning....a real English garden! The resident cats added to the enjoyment. We will definitely be back. Casanova Restaurant is a must for dinner.

This was our second year in Maid Marion, and we had a great time again. Our 9 days were spent in Carmel, Point Lobos, 17-Mile Drive and relaxing. This is a great place to stay for people with children thanks to the equipped kitchen. It's also great for those who do not want to eat every meal at a restaurant, especially taking into account the continental breakfast every morning. Weber BBQ's a big iplus that we used everal times to keep Mom out of the kitchen. We brought our bicycles and rode to Carmel Valley, 17 Mile Drive, Pt. Lobos, Carmel Highlands. Lincolln Green is a great place to use as a base for bicycle riders. We'll be planning to return next year for a 1+ week stay again.

We come for my birthday and brougoht Mr. Big and Jolie (our 2 Newfoundlands) Our are black in color and definitely were the stars of the beach on Ocean. We enjoyed the absolute calmness and quiet at this lovely cottage. It restores the soul. We enjoyed dinner at the Grill on Ocean Avenue and walked to town and back on a lovely evening. We loved the fact that we could walk around the corner and some steps and be on the beach. One of our new favorite spots in Carmel! Best
